FAQ

Common questions.

What is a maintenance dispatch board?

A dispatch board is a single view that lines up unassigned work orders beside each technician’s schedule, so a supervisor can see the whole day — who is on shift, what they are carrying, and what still needs an owner — and assign work without leaving the screen.

How are work orders matched to technicians?

AuConsole looks at the skills a work order calls for and each technician’s availability, then highlights who is set up to take it. The suggestion is propose-only: a person always confirms every assignment.

What is the difference between maintenance scheduling and dispatching?

Scheduling decides when work should happen — recurring preventive maintenance, due dates, planned windows. Dispatching decides who does it and when today. AuConsole handles both in one place, so the plan and the day never drift apart.

Can I see technician workload and capacity?

Yes. Each technician’s row shows their shift and the work they are already carrying, so before assigning anything you can see who has room — and off-shift technicians are visible but clearly marked.

Can a work order be reassigned or rescheduled after it is assigned?

Yes. Assignments are not locked — when priorities shift or someone calls out, work orders can be moved to another technician or another time, and the history of the change is kept on the work order.

What is resource planning in maintenance management software?

Resource planning means balancing the maintenance workload across the people available to do it. In AuConsole that is the dispatch board: capacity, skills and open work in one view, so the plan reflects what the team can actually carry.
